Ex-Crystal Palace Owner Must Remove All Mentions Of Former Colleague In Book

Former League Championship side Crystal Palace Owner SIMON JORDAN "has been ordered to remove all mentions" of ex-Crystal Palace Academy Dir JOHN CARTWRIGHT from the reprint of his book "Be Careful What You Wish For," according to Charles Sale of the London DAILY MAIL. The book was "shortlisted for the 2012 William Hill Sports Book of the Year Prize" and was "scathing" about Cartwright. Jordan made "defamatory claims about Cartwright benefiting from Palace junior players who signed professional contracts and described the respected former as an 'extremely bad apple' and 'very difficult, bitter and negative man.'" Sale wrote, "The resulting legal action saw Cartwright paid an undisclosed sum as well as receiving a written apology and the numerous offending comments removed from the second edition" (DAILY MAIL, 2/14).
