League Notes: AITA Gives Revolting Players Until Friday To Be Considered For Selection

The All India Tennis Association "would be forced to select a depleted side to counter South Korea as none of the eight revolting players has made himself available for Davis Cup selection so far." AITA said that it has patience to wait until Friday morning and anyone who makes himself available "will be considered for selection." Although none of the players have contacted AITA, "it has been learnt at least two players have shown interest in turning up for the tie but could not confirm their participation as they are travelling" (PTI, 1/10). ... The suspended Indian Boxing Federation (IABF) "claims to have taken the first step toward regaining recognition from the Int'l Boxing Association by preparing the draft of an amended constitution, which would be compliant with the AIBA statute" (PTI, 1/10).
