Brasileiro club Atlético-MG President Alexandre Kalil revealed that sportswear company Lupo has agreed to a two-year deal worth R$25M ($12M) with the club, according to GAZETA PRESS. Kalil had already mentioned that the club was switching kit suppliers next season "but had not given a company name" until now. Kalil was "very happy" about the new deal, which was brokered by marketing agency 9ine. Kalil said, "So you have an idea of the increase in value, when I came to Atlético-MG our kit deal was worth R$1.7M ($820,000) and now this sum is much inferior to what we have just agreed to for the next two seasons." The Brazilian sportswear company "is looking to expand its brand with the construction of 50 more stores in '13." The company currently has 220 stores across Brazil (GAZETA PRESS, 12/19).

Australia winery Tyrrell’s Wines has signed a two-year agreement to become the National Rugby League's South Sydney Rabbitohs’ official wine partner. Tyrrell’s will have the rights to exclusive pourage across all Rabbitohs corporate events and functions for the next two years, as well as becoming the naming-rights sponsor to the Tyrrell’s Wines Legends Lounge at home games. Tyrrell’s Wines and the Rabbitohs have a history, which spans three decades (Rabbitohs).

Cycling Australia announced that Jayco has re-signed as CA’s national teams’ naming-rights sponsor, with a significant level of investment secured for the sport over the next four years, representing a multimillion dollar deal over an eight year period. Australia National Performance Dir. Kevin Tabotta said, "Jayco are a dream sponsor for Australian sport. [Jayco Founder & Orica-GreenEDGE team Owner] Gerry Ryan is genuinely passionate about being part of the success of Cycling Australia’s high performance athletes teams and programs" (CA).

RYAN DEFENDS CYCLING: In Sydney, Samantha Lane reported Ryan said the sport "does more than most to eradicate doping." Ryan said that his professional road team spent €200,000 ($264,900) on anti-doping programs in its debut season on the World Tour circuit this year. Ryan: ''I think if you look at the past six years the sport and the programs they have implemented, with the [biological] passport system, is probably one of the cleanest sports, or most tested sports, in the world'' (SYDNEY MORNING HERALD, 12/20).

Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) club ratiopharm Ulm "has extended its sponsorship contract with title sponsor pharmaceutical company ratiopharm for another three years until '16." Specific conditions of the contract "have not been released," however, the club's budget "will reportedly be increased for the upcoming season" (KICKER, 12/18). ... The German Basketball Federation (DBB) has signed an agreement with German-based online marketing company freeXmedia to become the federation's official marketing partner for its online sites and (freeXmedia). ... Online ticket marketplace viagogo has teamed up with Bundesliga club Schalke 04 to become the club's official ticketing partner starting with the '13-14 season. The new partnership will provide the Royal Blues’ season ticket holders with the option of selling their tickets for home games they cannot attend through viagogo. Schalke 04 is viagogo’s 10th partner in the Bundesliga (viagogo).

NEWS ON THE RUGBY PITCH: Championship side Doncaster Rugby League Club has revealed Green Energy Solutions UK Ltd. has renewed its sponsorship with the club for the forthcoming season (Doncaster). ... Premiership side Bath Rugby has named Good Energy as the club's official energy partner. The company will support the club in its efforts to become more sustainable. The electricity supplied will be used to power both the Recreation Ground and the Farleigh House training facility (Bath Rugby).
