AGNES TJONGARERO "was re-elected as president of the Namibia National Olympic Committee at its annual general meeting on Friday." Tjongarero, who has led the organization for more than two decades, "was elected unopposed." Also elected unopposed to the body "were JOAN SMIT, who takes over as secretary general from ABNER XOAGUB; MONICA DAHL as treasurer; and GABY AHRENS as the athletes’ representative on the NNOC board" (ALL AFRICA, 11/26).

MANAGERS/COACHES: Russian Premier League club FC Spartak Moscow General Dir VALERI KARPIN has stepped in as interim coach for the rest of '12 following the departure of UNAI EMERY on Sunday (UEFA). Any further changes in the staff are expected at the end of December and "will depend on Spartak's results in the remaining matches" (RUSSIA TODAY, 11/26).
