Rapper Snoop Dogg Interested In Becoming Shareholder Of Scottish Club Celtic

Rapper SNOOP DOGG "has revealed he wants to buy a share" in Scottish club Celtic, according to Lauren Crooks of the Scotland DAILY RECORD. The L.A.-based hip hop artist said that he "wants a seat on the board and is ready to shell out millions to get involved at the Parkhead club." Snoop said that he has discussed his plans with his friend DAVID BECKHAM and "claims he’ll get Becks into a Hoops jersey." Snoop said, "I got a lot of interest in soccer. It’s not a new thing for hip hop stars to invest in sports teams, but it is a new thing for hip hop stars to invest in soccer teams. I am passionate about my sport. The boxes at Celtic would never be the same once I have hosted a party there" (DAILY RECORD, 11/18). L'EQUIPE reported that Snoop was impressed by Celtic's 2-1 Champions League victory against Barcelona on Nov. 7 and is now ready to invest in the Scottish team. Snoop said he "wasn't exactly sure" how much he would invest but it would be "a percentage elevated enough so that his voice is heard" (L'EQUIPE, 11/18).
