German private-TV channel RTL obtained "dream ratings" with its broadcast of the heavyweight boxing bout between Ukrainian Wladimir Klitschko and Poland's Mariusz Wach," according to Daniel Sallhoff of QUOTENMETER.de. RTL's almost two-hour broadcast attracted an average of 11.77 million viewers after 11:17pm CEST. In the target demographic of 14-49 year-olds, the fight was watched by 4.86 million viewers. Those numbers translate into a market share of 53.7% and 51.6%, respectively. In comparison, Klitschko's most-recent fights attracted only an average of 9 million viewers (QUOTENMETER.de, 11/11). BILD.de's Dierenga & Willborn reported that the fight "had a peak audience of 12.4 million viewers." Klitschko retained his WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight titles, unanimously outpointing Wach. The judges scored it 120-107, 120-107 and 119-109 for Klitschko (BILD, 11/11).
