Golfasian hired BOYD BARKER to serve as the company's GM. Barker's background includes 24 years of experience with Marriott International and Minor Hotels and Resorts in both the U.S. and Asia. Golfasian also hired SURATAT ARAMRITTIKUL as the operations manager. Aramrittikul will be responsible for managing all of the on-ground operations of the company (Golfasian). ... England Golf CEO JOHN PETRIE has resigned after five years in the role. England Golf Finance Dir CRAIG WAGSTAFF will assume his role and duties for an interim period until a replacement is found (England Golf).

MALAYSIA BADMINTON: Kuala Lumpur Badminton Association President NORZA ZAKARIA "retained his post" at its general meeting by beating out NG THIN HUATT by 13 votes. Additionally, A. SUBRAMANIAM will take over from K. SAMARASAM as deputy president (THE STAR, 10/2). THE STAR added that South Korean PARK JOO-BONG "may start his job as the country's badminton supremo as early as January next year if negotiations fall into place over the next three week." The Badminton Association of Malaysia has identified him as the "prime candidate for project manager," who will oversee three squads: the singles, doubles and Bukit Jalil Sports School (THE STAR, 10/2).
