ESPN Acquires Multimedia Rights To Football's NextGen Series

ESPN has acquired the multimedia rights to football's NextGen Series, a European competition of football featuring players from 24 top European clubs. The contract is valid from the '12-13 season until the end of the '15-16 season. ESPN will have the exclusive rights to the event in the U.S., Brazil, Latin America, the Caribbean, Oceania and the Middle East. ESPN Int'l will broadcast 18 matches this season on its channels worldwide, including the semifinals and final. All of the mathces will air live on ESPN's media platforms: ESPNPlay.com, WatchESPN and ESPN3. Some of the most famous European clubs participating in this year's competition include Manchester City, FC Barcelona, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, PSG, Borussia Dortmund, Juventus and Inter Milan (ESPN).
