Marketplace Roundup: AS Roma Agrees To Partnership With Philipp Plein

Serie A club AS Roma has agreed to a partnership deal with Swiss fashion house Philipp Plein. Philipp Plein will design the official uniforms to be worn by the club's players for the next four years. Philipp Plein said, "I'd like my style to turn every member of the team and of the squad into a modern-day gladiator, with a new image making them all beautiful, invincible and, as a result, admired by everyone even off the pitch" (AGI.it, 9/4).

TRADING UP: Brasileiro club Flamengo "agreed to a partnership" with trading card company Panini, which will see them create cards of the club's players. The new product "will not be for sale" but will be used as a gift to fans of the club. Flamengo will distribute the new products through their players at games and training sessions. The club will also use "their official Facebook page to promote the initiative" (MAQUINADOESPORTE.com.br, 9/4). ... The club also has a new team bus a a result of their sponsorship with auto manufacturer Wolkswagen (MAQUINADOESPORTE.com.br, 9/4).
