Nicklaus Academies Opens First Facility In South America Outside São Paulo

Senpar, one of Brazil’s leading golf and lifestyle residential developers, celebrated the opening of South America’s first Jack Nicklaus Academy of Golf at its Terras de São José II development in the town of Itu on the outskirts of São Paulo. The academy features two indoor-outdoor Jack Nicklaus Coaching Studios, a putting lab and a PING custom fitting center. The Coaching Studio is powered by the proprietary Nicklaus Academy fully-integrated analysis software program that includes multiple high-speed video cameras, a pressure/balance mat, an automated lighting system, a FlightScope ball flight monitor, and multiple video monitors featuring live video feed for the students to view. Some of the future enhancements will include a complete short game training area and a special VIP tee. Senpar and the CBG signed a deal during the celebration to support the identification and development of the top players in Brazil in anticipation of the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and the re-introduction of golf as an Olympic sport. The Nicklaus Academy at Terras de São José II is open to members and residents of both Terras I and Terras II, residents of Senpar's newest development, SerrAzul, as well as the public (Nicklaus Academies).
