Barcelona Looking To Hold Referendum On The Future Of The Camp Nou
Barcelona spokesperson Toni Freixa revealed that the club's BOD "will hold a meeting with senior club members on Sept. 22" to ask permission to hold a referendum regarding the future of the Camp Nou stadium, according to the EFE. If permission is granted to hold the referendum, Barcelona will "invite all club members to vote on the matter." A number of different options regarding Barça's home stadium are on the table. They range from "doing nothing at all to the Camp Nou, to reconstructing parts of the stadium, rebuilding the entire stadium on the same site or constructing a new stadium on a different site." Freixa also stressed that "no fixed date" for the referendum would be set at the Sept. 22 meeting (EFE, 9/4).
