Marketplace Roundup: Int'l Biathlon Union Extends Deal With Infront

The Int'l Biathlon Union has extended its marketing rights contract with Infront Sports & Media for the IBU World Cup and the IBU World Championships Biathlon from '14-18. The contract will be implemented by Infront's subsidiary Infront Austria, located in Salzburg and led by Stefan Krauss and Michael Witta (Infront). ... Coca-Cola enjoyed a 61% spontaneous brand awareness among Chinese consumers as a result of its London Games sponsorship, according to research consultancy R3. R3's latest survey of 1,500 consumers in ten cities said that Coke received the most awareness of all the major brands aligned with the Games, and its awareness was far greater than after the '08 Beijing Games when it was measured to be 46% (ASIASPONSORSHIPNEWS.com, 9/3).

PARTNER UP: Indian electronic consumer goods manufacturer Godrej Appliances has become the title sponsor of the Tour de India. Tour de India is the largest cycling event in India and takes place in Delhi, Mumbai and Srinagar on Nov. 4, 7 and 11. The deal was brokered by Total Sports Asia and is for three years (TOTAL SPORTS ASIA). Brasileiro club Corinthians has a new sponsorship deal with marketing agency Apito Ação Promocional for the next seven games of the league. Terms of the deal were not disclosed (JORNALDACIDADE.com.br, 8/31). ... Brasileiro B club Ceara has agreed to a partnership with ice cream distributor Marujinho. The deal is for the rest of the season (MAQUINADOESPORTE.com.br, 8/31). ... German Hockey League (DEL) club Iserlohn Roosters signed a new title sponsorship deal with public utility company Stadtwerke Iserlohn. The three-year deal includes ad space on the ice and on the boards of the Eisporthalle Iserlohn. In addition, the company's logo will be featured on the team's jerseys (Iserlohn Roosters). ... DEL club EHC Red Bull Munich extended its partnership with electricity provider heinemann for another year. The deal includes ad space on the boards of the Olympic Ice Sport Centre as well as various other promotional events (EHC Red Bull Munich). ... Mission Foods has extended its naming-rights deal with Australian netball team Queensland Firebirds for three more years. In addition to supporting the Firebirds, the company has thrown its support behind grassroots netball as the naming rights sponsor of the Queensland State Netball League (Firebirds).
