JJB, Rangers End Merchandising Agreement To Pave Way For Mike Ashley Deal
Sports retailer JJB Sports has reached an agreement with Rangers FC to end their merchandising deal, according to the SCOTSMAN. The deal is expected to allow Rangers to move toward a new agreement with Sports Direct Owner Mike Ashley, with talks "expected to take place later this week." Rangers are expected to retain "more ownership of their merchandising arrangement" with Sports Direct. Terms have not been released. A JJB spokesperson said under the settlement, the "right to all trademarks and licence to manufacture the Rangers football kit" along with the retail megasotre at Ibrox would be transferred back to the club (SCOTSMAN, 8/21).
