Two New Golf Courses And Resorts In Vietnam And Canada

IMG Golf Course Services, a division of IMG Worldwide, has been retained by Asian Coast Development (Canada) Ltd., to "provide golf course construction management and pre-opening technical services for the Ho Tram Strip project in Ba Ria-Vung Tay Province, Vietnam, according to GOLFBUSINESSNEWS.com. The golf course, consisting of 18 holes designed by Greg Norman, is set among "sprawling dunes along the south east coast of Vietnam," close to Ho Chi Minh City. The Ho Tram Strip is a multi-phase integrated resort development that will feature five-star resorts, two of which will include gaming areas, "offering a unique blend of beach, adventure and entertainment activities set on a pristine beachfront" property in Ba Ra-Vung Tau Province. The Ho Tram Strip is devised into six areas, including five resorts and the golf course (GOLFBUSINESSNEWS.com, 8/17).

OH, CANADA: Ontario-based developer, Geranium Corp., "started construction of a new golf course as part of the four-season resort Friday Harbour," located in Innisfil, Ontario. The whole project will take about 10 years to complete and is estimated to cost $1.5B, which will "include 2,000 residential units, a 1,000-slip marina, an 18-hole golf course and 200 acres of protected woodlands." The golf course, designed by Toronto-based architect Doug Carrick, is expected to open in the fall of '14 (GOLF INC., 8/21).
