International Friendlies Score High Ratings In Europe

Wednesday's friendly between Germany and Argentina "attracted 8.07 million viewers or 30.7%," according to Kevin Kyburz of QUOTENMETER.de. In the marketing relevant target age group 14-49, ZDF's coverage "was watched by 2.71 million viewers or 26.9%." In comparison, Germany's 3-1 loss to Argentina "attracted more people than did the London Olympics on average." In addition, the game's pregame show attracted 4.6 million viewers or 21.3% overall, and 1.56 million viewers or 18.4% in the target group. (QUOTENMETER.de, 8/16).

FRANCE:
TF1's broadcast of Didier Deschamps' debut as head coach of the French team against Uruguay was watched by 5.18 million or a 27.4% share (JEANMARCMORANDINI.com, 8/16).

SPAIN: La 1's coverage of Spain's friendly against Puerto Rico had a viewership of 2.17 million people and a 21.2% share. The most-watched minute was at 11:10pm when 3.07 million people were tuned in and a 24% share (VERTELE.com, 8/16).

ENGLAND: ITV1's live coverage of England's 2-1 victory over Italy was watched by 4.1 million people and a 18.5% share (London GUARDIAN, 8/16).
