Consortium Hoping To Save Bradford Bulls Rugby Club Submits Bid
The consortium seeking to rescue Super League's Bradford Bulls rugby club have "formally submitted their bid," according to the London TELEGRAPH. Administrator Brendan Guilfoyle said that the offer is "conditional on the prospective new owners buying back the lease" of Odsal Stadium and the Bulls "retaining their Super League status." Guilfoyle warned that the next few days will be "critical." The group of Bradford-based Asian businessmen, known as the ABC consortium, have been in talks for several days with the administrator and are "the only buyer left in the race." Guilfoyle said, "The consortium has made an offer that is a basis for negotiations with both the administrators and the Rugby Football League." Guilfoyle is "expected to meet the RFL" Friday to "update them on the offer" (TELEGRAPH, 7/19).
