Tour De France, Grand Prix Pick Up Strong Weekend Ratings

Tour de France broadcasters France 2 and France 3 "realized excellent scores" over the weekend, according to LEBLOGTVNEWS.com. Saturday's stage gave France 3 a 20.5% share and France 2 a 38.1% share. The stage reached a peak audience of 5.1 million viewers and a 48.5% at the "moment of the finish." Sunday's stage "also realized excellent scores" with France 3 getting a 19% share and France 2 a 35.5% share. At the end of the stage, the peak audience reached 6.4 million for a 48.2% share (LEBLOGTVNEWS.com, 7/9). In Germany, "an average of 470,000 people" watched Eurosport's broadcast of the seventh Tour de France stage or a "strong" 3.1% share (DWDL.de, 7/9).

FORMULA 1:
Also in France, Sunday's British Grand Prix broadcast by TF1 was watched by 2.6 million people or a 19% share (LEBLOGTVNEWS.com, 7/9). In Germany, free-to-air broadcaster RTL reached "a 35.8% market share" with its coverage of the British GP. A total 5.85 million viewers tuned in (DWDL.de, 7/9).
