German MotoGP Race Suffers Drop In Attendance
The German MotoGP race attracted "considerably fewer spectators" this year than in previous years, according to the SID. The grand prix in '12 was able to sell 195,000 tickets for the three-day race weekend. That's 35,000 fewer than last year's "record-breaking attendance" of 230,000. In '02 the race reached its "all-time low" with an attendance of 184,500. MotoGP promoter Dorna Sports and German auto club ADAC Munich signed "a new four-year contract" in June, which guarantees an annual German MotoGP race (SID, 7/9).
