DMI Will Launch Six Free-To-Air Channels For London Games
Dubai Media Incorporated announced the "launch of six free-to-air sports channels" to cover the London Games, according to the GULF NEWS. The 24-hour channels "will begin transmission a week before" the start of the Games. DMI will be able to reach "approximately 800 million viewers" with the new sports portfolio on AsiaSat 5, which "covers two thirds of the world's population." The step comes in line with the "keenness of DMI and its sports channels to establish a strong presence through it coverage" of the Olympics (GULF NEWS, 7/6).
