Motorsports governing body FIA re-evaluated its current penalty system, according to Kerstin Hasenbichler of MOTORSPORT MAGAZIN. Recent punishments fueled the discussion of FIA's penalty system and could lead to changes in the future. During a meeting at FIA headquarters in Paris, one of the topics on the agenda was the effectiveness of the current penalty system. FIA drivers' steward Derek Warwick said, "It could come to several changes in upcoming months or years. In the future penalties will be more individualized and therefore easier to understand for drivers, teams and fans" (MOTORSPORT MAGAZIN, 7/4).
