UEFA Dishing Out Significant Prize Money For Good Performance
The national teams left in Euro 2012 are set to receive significant prize money from UEFA, according to A BOLA. After the quarterfinal rounds finished on Sunday, Germany had already guaranteed itself €16M ($20M), Spain €15.5M ($19.4M), and both Portugal and Italy €15M ($18.7M). Those amounts do not take into account the additional €3M ($3.7M) each will receive for reaching the semifinal stage. Furthermore, the Euro finalist will receive an additional €4.5M ($5.6M) and the winner €7.5M ($9.4M) (A BOLA, 6/24).
