Bucks Promote Dir Of Basketball Operations Jon Horst To GM

The Bucks named Dir of Basketball Operations Jon Horst GM. The team will hold an introductory press conference tomorrow at 10:00am CT. Horst began his NBA front office career with the Pistons in '05 and joined the Bucks in '08 (Bucks). Horst "wasn't one of the six executives the team interviewed" June 5-6 in N.Y. He also "wasn't one of the three finalists the team brought to Milwaukee last week for further conversations." It looked like Bucks Assistant GM Justin Zanik was the "last finalist remaining and in best position to take the job" (JSONLINE.com, 6/16). Horst was a finalist last summer for the Bucks Assistant GM position that went to Zanik. The Bucks are "expected to pursue a well-connected and experienced" Assistant GM to assist Horst in his transition (ESPN.com, 6/16).
