Verizon Center Roof Springs Leak Twice During Rockets-Wizards Game
Verizon Center's roof during last night's Rockets-Wizards game "sprung a leak," which "delayed the game twice." The first instance came nine seconds into the second quarter and lasting for 35 minutes, and teh second came at halftime and lasting for 19 minutes. Rain "began to pour from the hole of the roof again at halftime," yet players "just kept warming up." Wizards F Trevor Ariza: "I can’t say that I’ve been a part of a game that had delays for rain. We play indoors" (WASHINGTON POST, 1/12).
