Marlins Name Michael Hill As President To Replace Larry Beinfest

The Marlins today "reorganized their front office" by promoting VP & GM Michael Hill to the role of President of Baseball Operations. Hill replaces Larry Beinfest, who was fired Friday. The team also promoted Dan Jennings to GM after he served as VP/Player Development & Assistant GM (MLB.com, 9/29). The move to dismiss Beinfest comes after "more than a year of speculation.” Beinfest had two years remaining on his contract (MIAMI HERALD, 9/28).

The Miami Herald's Clark Spencer tweeted that Marlins Owner Jeffrey Loria was "not present" for today's press conference formally announcing the front office changes (TWITTER.com, 9/29).
