AT&T Park Workers Vote To Strike, Await Centerplate's Response
AT&T Park concession workers yesterday after the Giants' home game against the Braves "overwhelmingly voted" to give their union "the authority to call a strike," according to a source. Unite Here Local 2 spokesperson Nischit Hegde said that the workers "will not immediately strike, but instead wait to see" how South Carolina-based concessionaire Centerplate responds to the vote. About 750 union-represented concession workers at the ballpark "have been working without a contract for three years" (S.F. CHRONICLE, 5/12).
