David Stern Says N.J. Has "No Idea What It's Doing" With Gambling Plans

NBA Commissioner David Stern "scolded" N.J. Gov. Chris Christie in a court deposition published on Friday opposing New Jersey's motion to dismiss a lawsuit filed by the four major professional sports leagues and the NCAA to halt the state's efforts to legalize gambling. Stern: "New Jersey has no idea what it's doing and doesn't care because all it's interested in is making a buck or two, and they don't care that it's at our potential loss." MLB Commissioner Bud Selig in his deposition said he was "appalled." Selig: "Chris Christie needs money. ... This is corruption in my opinion" (AP, 12/7).
