Ted Griggs Leaving NBC; Bill Bridgen Taking His Responsibilities

Ted Griggs is leaving NBC Sports Regional Networks, where he has been President of Group and Strategic Production & Programming since '16. In an email sent to staff on Thursday, NBC Sports Group Chair Pete Bevacqua said Griggs is moving back to the Bay Area, where he previously had spent 18 years with NBC Sports Bay Area. “This is a personal decision for Ted, and he has agreed to continue as an advisor,” Bevacqua wrote. NBC Sports Regional Networks President & Group Leader Bill Bridgen will take over Griggs’ duties. Bridgen will continue to report to NBC Sports Regional Networks President David Preschlack and will begin reporting, as well, to NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations President Valari Staab. “Bill will lead our relationships with leagues and team partners in our markets,” Bevacqua wrote.

As part of these moves, NBC will consolidate operations and administrative functions between the RSNs and NBC local broadcast stations. “This new structure is modeled after our market in Boston, where NBC Sports Boston, NBC 10 Boston, Telemundo Boston and NECN are all operating successfully and independently while maximizing shared resources,” Bevacqua wrote.
