Jessica Smith To Lead Sponsorships For NWSL's Angel City

The NWSL’s L.A.-based Angel City team has hired Jessica Smith as its first head of sponsorships. Smith, who has been Earthquakes VP/Sponsorship since January '17, joins as Head of Corporate Partnerships for Angel City, which will begin play in '22. It's a unique offering: 10% of every sponsorship will be tithed to social causes, via product, asset, or monetary donation. “We’re different from other properties and I think this is just right for these times,” said Smith.

Topping Smith’s agenda are selling a kit deal, and sponsor assets associated with a planned training facility. Smith also has held sales positions with the Blue Jackets and A's. Additional new hires by Angel City see Kim McCauley joining the team as Dir of Recruitment & analytics and Catherine Dávila, as Head of Community.
