The Ringer Brings On Jackie MacMullan To Host NBA Podcast

The Ringer has hired sportswriter Jackie MacMullan to host a narrative NBA podcast while making regular appearances on other pods, including “The Bill Simmons Podcast,” “The Book of Basketball,” “The Ringer NBA Show” and “The Ryen Russillo Podcast.” MacMullan makes her first appearance later today on Simmons’ pod. The Ringer previously brought on Logan Murdock and former NBAer Raja Bell primarily for “The Ringer NBA Show,” though Bell will appear on other podcasts as well. Murdock also will continue to write for TheRinger.com. At the same time, MacMullen signed a multi-year extension with ESPN that will keep her appearing on studio shows like “Around the Horn” and writing for ESPN’s website.

TNT’s Stan Van Gundy, ESPN’s Tim Reed, NBA Playoffs and NFL Draft

On this week’s pod, SBJ’s Austin Karp has two Big Get interviews. The first is with TNT’s Stan Van Gundy as he breaks down the NBA Playoffs from the booth. Later in the show, we hear from ESPN’s VP of Programming and Acquisitions Tim Reed as the NFL Draft gets set to kick off on Thursday night in Motown. SBJ’s Tom Friend also joins the show to share his insights into NBA viewership trends.
