Texans-Chiefs Ticket Prices Trend Down Ahead Of NFL Kickoff

Tickets For Less is managing much of the single-game tickets for tonight’s Texans-Chiefs NFL season opener, and TFL VP/Sales & Marketing Adam Rossbach said, “Prices did start high and they have come down. I don’t expect them to come back up, which is something you might think would happen with reduced capacity.” The get-in price on the upper level of Arrowhead Stadium this week was averaging $195 with fees. Rossbach said a lower-level seat was averaging a $265 get-in price, while the club level was averaging $350 a seat.

For a defending Super Bowl champion opening the season, Rossbach said the Chiefs’ current ticket prices would be in line with a normal ticketing environment. But he added, “From our standpoint, it’s been a little bit surprising to see the prices trend downward with fewer seats available.” Arrowhead Stadium will have approximately 16,000 fans tonight, or 22% capacity.

The Chiefs offered tickets to one of the first three home games to season-ticket holders first, Rossbach said. “Then last Friday, the Chiefs offered single-game tickets to the public, which opened up on the secondary market. We’re working with them to maximize distribution of inventory on our website and across other platforms,” Rossbach said. He declined to disclose how many tickets TFL had access to resell.

Meanwhile, YAHOO SPORTS reports the Jaguars also have "experienced some lagging demand" for Sunday's home opener against the Colts. The Chiefs and Jaguars are the only two NFL franchises hosting fans during Week 1.
