Magic Make Amway Center Voting Place, Joining NBA Trend

Add the Magic to the growing list of NBA teams opening their arenas as voting locations for the upcoming general election. The team is expected to announce today the opening of Amway Center as an early voting location, sources said. The arena will be open starting Oct. 19 and will serve as a polling location through Nov. 1 as one of 20 early voting locations within Orange County. Amway Center also will be open on Sept. 22 for voter registration.

After last week’s playoff game boycotts, the NBA and NBPA unveiled a plan to use arenas as polling places as part of an agreement to resume games in Orlando. Other teams to open arenas as polling places include the Nets, Bucks, Hawks, Pistons and Kings.
