Crowd-Data Software Company Armored Things Raises $7M

Crowd-intelligence software company Armored Things has raised an additional $7M in seed funding, bringing its total capital investment to $14.8M. Through real-time AI, the Boston-based startup’s software helps venue managers monitor crowd density, space utilization, security for stadiums, college/corporate campuses and conference sites. The additional funding will be used to support Armored Things’ expanding product development and to attract new customers. Armored Things recently announced LAFC will use its software as part of its reopening strategy.

This seed funding round was led by Will Ventures, a Boston venture capital firm co-founded by former NFLer Isaiah Kacyvenski. Other participants include data tech company Splunk and Armored Things’ existing investors Glasswing Ventures, iNovia and MassVentures.
