TaylorMade Driving Relief Raises $5.5M To Fight COVID-19

The TaylorMade Driving Relief charity event at Seminole Golf Club raised more than $5.5M to "help COVID-19 relief efforts as the match came down to a closest-to-the-pin playoff on a shortened 17th hole." Rory McIlroy and Dustin Johnson won the skins match, "representing the American Nurses Foundation and winning 11 skins" worth $1.85M, compared to the seven skins for $1.15M that went to Rickie Fowler and Matthew Wolff of the CDC Foundation Team. All participants and officials were "subject to testing and asked to practice social distancing" (PALM BEACH POST, 5/18).

Players were "tested twice before the event and arrived about an hour" before the 2:00pm ET tee time. Rules officials and a limited TV crew including six cameras "kept the footprint on the grounds to around 50 people" (GOLFWEEK.com, 5/17).
