NHL's Bettman Still Has Goal Of Completing '19-20 Season

NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman last night reiterated his goal “to come back and hopefully complete this season.” He said while the league is modeling several different scenarios, the timing of the restart “ultimately will be made by medical people and people who run governments at all different levels.” Those models include playing “into the summer” to complete the ’19-20 season and then playing the ’20-21 season “in its entirety,” albeit with a later starting date. Bettman also revealed that the league is considering a four-arena plan for its return that will rule out playing in “a small college rink in the middle of a smaller community” (“In Conversation,” Sportsnet, 4/22).
