U.S. Open At Winged Foot No Longer Taking Place In June

The U.S. Open at Winged Foot “will not take place in June as scheduled,” with the plan for the tournament “to be played later in the summer” at the N.Y.-area course, according to sources. The USGA would not confirm the move of the date. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s executive order last week that called for 100% of the “non-essential work force to stay at home resulted in the indefinite closure of Winged Foot.” The golf season’s first two majors, The Masters and the PGA Championship, have already been delayed until later this year (N.Y. POST, 3/27).
