L.A. Sparks Win Big At WNBA Team Business Awards

The L.A. Sparks were the big winners at the WNBA Team Business Awards last night in Dallas, garnering honors for Franchise of the Year, Tickets Sales Performance of the Year and Marketing Performance of the Year. The Dallas Wings won the Partnership Performance of the Year Award. The awards were part of the league’s annual sales and marketing meeting, and all 12 WNBA teams were eligible.

The Sparks' Franchise award was for strong ticket sales, marketing and sponsorships. They earned their Ticket Sales award after a campaign that led to increases in group and full-season sales and gate receipts. The club led the league in attendance with close to 200,000 fans, a 6% increase over '18. The Sparks won their Marketing honors for the “Spark the True You” campaign to promote mental health awareness and care for current/former female members of the military. The Wings won the Partnership award for sponsor retention and 40% growth in sponsorship revenue.
