American Cornhole League Tabs Subway As College Tour Sponsor

The American Cornhole League has signed Subway as the primary sponsor for its ’19 College Championship season, which includes 13 qualifying tournaments on or near college campus the Friday before that week’s college football game. ACL Commissioner Stacey Moore said the deal is important because it “shows we are attractive to large brands and can bring a lot of value to them.” Moore: “We hope it will be expanding into a long-term partnership. As of right now, it’s a one-time deal for both of us. It’s a test to see how well we can work together.”

Subway VP/Marketing Steve Micolo said reaching a younger audience in a fun and unique way was important for the QSR. Subway will line up its TV inventory with the airings of the tournaments, in particular the National College Cornhole Championship. There will be two broadcasts on ESPN, one each for the college and alumni championships. The brands will activate via a tailgate featuring ACL pros, a VIP lounge, branded RV, food and games prior to the college football game at that week’s location.
