Michael Kay To Miss Work After Today's Vocal Cord Surgery
YES Network's Michael Kay "will have to be silent for three straight weeks" after having a nodule removed from his vocal cords in a surgery scheduled for today. He indicated that he "hopes to be back to work as the TV voice of the Yankees and the host" of his ESPN Radio 98.7 N.Y. afternoon talk show a "month from now." Whether he will "go back to full-time work right away is still to be determined." The vocal cord issue is "caused by years and years of use" (N.Y. POST, 7/9).
