Cubs Complete TV Deal With Sinclair; Network To Debut In '20

The Cubs have completed their long-expected TV deal with Sinclair Broadcast Group, with the newly named Marquee Sports Network set to debut in the spring of '20 as the club’s exclusive RSN. The new network, more than three years in development, will air up to 145 regular-season Cubs games per year. Offseason programming will be a mix of Cubs-related news and feature shows, game replays and other team-focused content.

Though the team and Sinclair also plan to air some as-yet-unannounced live games from other teams on the channel, there will not be a top-tier anchor team for the winter such as an NBA or NHL franchise. Financial terms were not disclosed. But both the Cubs and Sinclair will have equity in the joint venture. See more in today’s issue of THE DAILY.
