USWNT Plans New Tour Ahead Of '19 World Cup In France

The USWNT will embark on a 10-game, 10-city tour in preparation for the FIFA Women's World Cup in France next summer. The tour, which will be called Countdown to the Cup, will include the team’s annual SheBelieves Cup as well as a trio of send-off matches in May, played at Levi’s Stadium, Busch Stadium and Red Bull Arena. Two of the 10 matches will be held in Europe. U.S. Soccer is expected to announce the full schedule later today. The draw for the ‘19 WWC will be conducted on Saturday at noon ET, on both Fox Sports and Telemundo.

Meanwhile, the USWNT Players Association has signed a partnership with athlete marketing platform opendorse, aiming to provide USWNT players and team partners with social media publishing tools in preparation for the World Cup. The partnership, which will make opendorse the official social media activation partner of the USWNTPA, will be available to both active and retired USWNT players. Other opendorse partners include the NFLPA, PGA Tour, LPGA, WTA and 10 NHL teams. The USWNTPA is a partner in REP Worldwide, the player marketing and group licensing program launched by the NFLPA in November ‘17.
