The NBA is launching the fourth installment of its “This is Why We Play” campaign with a new 30-second spot, called “Hopes,” which features a variety of fans expressing their hopes for the upcoming season. The spot, which will begin running today in advance of the '18-19 NBA season, includes Turner Sports' Kenny Smith, hip hop artist Travis Scott and social media influencer Famous Los. The spot will run on NBA social media channels, across its TV partners and for the first time on OTT streaming services. Translation is the NBA’s agency of record.

“Last year we did 30 different spots from the team’s perspective and this year it’s all about the fans,” said NBA Exec VP & CMO Pam El. “We are trying to tell stories about why people all over the world are excited about this game.” Various other “Hopes”-themed spots will run in advance of other key parts of the season, including the Christmas Day games, MLK Day, the postseason and Finals.
