SMI Rolling Out New Weather-Related Ticket Guarantee

SMI is announcing a new weather-related ticket guarantee whereby any fan who cannot attend a postponed event will be eligible to attend another race at any of SMI’s eight speedways within a calendar year. Several SMI tracks already had different versions of weather guarantees, but SMI President & CEO Marcus Smith decided to make a uniform company-wide policy. If an event is postponed and a fan cannot attend the postponed event, they will have 60 days to call the track ticket office and request a credit, which then can be used at any SMI event within a year from the original race date.

A formal announcement will come out later today, but Smith talked about what is being called the Speedway Motorsports Weather Guarantee this morning on The Weather Channel alongside NBC Sports’ Jeff Burton.
