Golf Channel Comes To Agreement With Video, Audio Union Workers
Golf Channel and the union that reps its cameramen and audio workers have "reached an agreement on a new contract," 11 days after workers went on strike during the final round of the PGA Tour Sony Open. The two-year deal "puts an end to the labor dispute between the two groups." The Int'l Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees said that the new contract is retroactive to June 13, 2017, when their "previous contract with the Golf Channel expired," and that the new deal "satisfied their desire for, among other things, improved wages and health-care contributions." Union members "ratified the new deal, specifics of which were not disclosed, over a three-day voting period that ended" yesterday at 5:00pm ET (GOLFDIGEST.com, 1/24).
