A Lesson In Disruption: Power Outage Hits CES On Day 2

Power was restored at CES in Las Vegas early yesterday afternoon after an "outage several hours earlier." Power at the Las Vegas Convention Center's Central Hall was lost around 11:15am PT, then "fully restored" at 1:30pm. During the outage, attendees were "allowed to leave the hall but not enter." CES officials in a statement said, "Heavy rainfall caused a flashover on one of the facility's transformers" (LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL, 1/11). The "atmosphere in and around the Convention Center during the blackout was largely calm and relaxed" (CNET.com, 1/10).
