Stephen Curry Talks New Signature Shoe, Supporting Veterans
Warriors G Stephen Curry appeared on NBC’s “The Tonight Show” last night and promoted his new Under Armour shoe, the Curry 4. He said, “It's crazy having your own signature product. A shoe that I get to wear on the court, and other people get to wear it with me and go along for the ride and the story.” Curry said this version is the "most personal because it's the one that I got to be a part of the design process from the beginning and kind of leave my mark on the shoe.” Host Jimmy Fallon joked, “I’ll wear these when I go on the court.” Curry: “You'll wear them behind that desk. Nobody'll see them, but you'll feel good.”
Curry also spoke about a piece he wrote for The Players' Tribune titled “The Noise.” Curry noted the piece was inspired by meeting a veteran at his wife Ayesha’s restaurant. Curry said, “It was Veterans Day, and I've kind of been plugged into the social climate ... being a part of how athletes use their voice and their platforms. I do feel that I have a responsibility to kind of speak my mind when I have the opportunity, and to shed light on the trials and tribulations that veterans go through” (“The Tonight Show,” NBC, 11/20).
