Carlos Correa, Fiancée Talk Iconic World Series Marriage Proposal

Astros SS Carlos Correa appeared on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” last night along with his fiancée, Daniella Rodriguez, whom he proposed to at the end of World Series Game 7. Host Jimmy Kimmel said proposing on the field “saved him a lot of money on champagne.” Rodriguez said Correa “had been so focused on all these games that the last thing I ever thought would be on his mind would be proposing to me. That’s why I yanked that gate out of my way.” Kimmel: “He turned the World Series into ‘The Bachelor’ all of a sudden.” Correa said he planned for a month and in Game 6, “I had the ring ready in my backpack. I’m like, ‘This is the night.’ We lost the game. I’m like, ‘Oh my gosh, one more game. I don’t have Plan B, so we better win.’” Kimmel asked Rodriguez, “If the Dodgers had won, would you have married one of them?”

Correa said he “saw people crying” at the championship parade in Houston. Correa: “People have been through tough times in Houston with Hurricane Harvey, and for us to be able to bring joy and happiness through baseball meant everything to us.” Kimmel asked about Correa’s teammate, 5’ 6’’ 2B Jose Altuve, “I know you had a parade at Disney World. Was he allowed on the rides?” Correa: “He was” (“Jimmy Kimmel Live,” ABC, 11/6).
