Laugh Track: Voter Fraud?

This week ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” was broadcasting from Brooklyn, and host Jimmy Kimmel noted the Yankees are one game from the World Series, but N.Y. Mayor Bill de Blasio is a “diehard” Red Sox fan and he stated it was “physically impossible for him to root for the Yankees.” Kimmel: “I give him credit for honesty, but that might be the stupidest (EXPLETIVE) thing I ever heard anybody say. You guys voted for a Red Sox fan?” (“Jimmy Kimmel Live,” ABC, 10/19).

Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” has been broadcasting from Chicago this week, and show regular Hasan Minhaj discussed how North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un is “obsessed” with the Bulls. Minhaj said, “When Kim was a boy, his passion was basketball, especially Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls. He would fall asleep with a basketball in his bed. The little dude spent hours doing meticulous pencil drawings of Bulls’ superstars. Creepy, okay!? So everybody is like, ‘Is he insane? Is he a genius?’ No, Kim Jong-un is basically me when I was in middle school: short, awkward, obsessed with basketball, weird haircut.” Minhaj: “When you look at Kim Jong-un, you may see an evil dictator. But I see every Asian kid who couldn’t make the basketball team” (“The Daily Show,” Comedy Central, 10/19).
