Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium To Host MLS All-Star Game In '18

Mercedes-Benz Stadium "will host" the MLS All-Star Game in '18, with a formal announcement scheduled for Monday at the stadium. Atlanta was "one of several cities under consideration by the league." The most recent All-Star Game in August featured the MLS squad playing Real Madrid in Chicago, with "more than 61,000 tickets sold." Atlanta United is "averaging 46,271 tickets sold per game and is on pace to break the league's average attendance record" (ATLANTA JOURNAL-CONSTITUTION, 10/19). MLS Commissioner Don Garber and Atlanta United Owner Arthur Blank will be present at Monday's announcement (MLS).
