Tampa Gears Up For Clemson-Alabama CFP Championship Game

Tampa is ramping up preparations for Monday's Clemson-Alabama CFP championship game, with CFP Exec Dir Bill Hancock and Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn holding a press conference today. Media members tomorrow will get a "sneak peek at the fan central area" that opens Friday at the Tampa Convention Center. The teams will arrive "sometime Friday" (TAMPA BAY TIMES, 1/4). The city expects "up to 15,000 in Curtis Hixon Park for free concerts Friday and Saturday and potentially more than 30,000" for Sunday's show featuring comedian Jay Pharoah and musical acts Usher, Gavin DeGraw and Jamie N Commons (TAMPA BAY TIMES, 1/3).
