Angels Reach Deal Making BodyArmor Their Official Sports Drink

BodyArmor today will announce a multiyear deal to become the Angels' official sports drink, marking the "company's first such agreement in a market long dominated by Gatorade." The deal was "spurred" by Angels CF Mike Trout, who has a stake in BodyArmor as part of his personal endorsement deal. Gatorade is MLB's sports drink sponsor and was "previously the primary drink available in the Angels' dugout." Teams are "free to negotiate their own such deals for regular-season games." More than half of MLB teams have deals with Gatorade (WSJ.com, 4/2). Pepsi, which owns Gatorade, retains pouring rights at Angel Stadium. Pepsi has had pouring rights at the venue since '98 (THE DAILY).
